PROTECT THE EARNINGS OF SAN FRANCISCO’S WORKERS.

When you pay unbanked workers with paper paychecks, you could be putting part of their money at risk. That’s because a lot of these workers use check cashing services, which charge convenience fees averaging hundreds of dollars a year. These fees are a drain on worker’s finances, productivity and quality of life, and they’re worse than you think.

ELECTRONIC PAY SOLVES THE PROBLEM.

The best way to protect employees’ earnings is to offer more modern choices than paper paychecks. With electronic pay, money goes straight to workers. With no checks to cash, and no need for check cashers, workers can save hundreds of dollars a year.

As an employer, you’re in the best position to help, because you’ve got control over your company’s payroll.

If you offer your workers two electronic pay solutions — direct deposit to a bank account, and one paycard — you could cover, protect and empower 100% of your workforce. And it’s easy to do. CurrenC SF is here to make sure of it.

SAN FRANCISCO’S CAMPAIGN FOR ELECTRONIC PAY.

CurrenC SF is a campaign from the City of San Francisco’s Office of Financial Empowerment. Our mission is to help San Francisco’s workers become financially empowered and self-reliant. Electronic pay is a critical first step, because it keeps working families away from check cashers, helps them save, and brings them into the financial mainstream.

Our partners include the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of the Bay Area, and other leading organizations. We aren’t a payroll company or a consulting service. Our role is to raise awareness, and offer resources and support. We don’t sell any products or charge for advice. We’re free.

CurrenC SF is building financial stability in our communities, laying the groundwork for stronger neighborhoods, stronger businesses, and a stronger city.
